Wit Vlugteling: Honesty in a Glass

The Wine for Those Who Stay.

In a world of noise, fear-mongering, and "alternative facts," we’re pouring something a little more grounded. Introducing Wit Vlugteling (White Refugee)—a wine that is as much a statement as it is a blend.

The Story Behind the Label The name is a tongue-in-cheek nod to the narrative that certain groups need to "flee" South Africa for distant shores. While some look for an exit, we’re looking for a glass.

Inspired by the movement of South Africans who refuse to be used as pawns in political agendas, Wit Vlugteling celebrates the choice to stay. It’s for the people who recognize that South Africa’s diversity is our greatest strength, that our sunshine is unmatched, and that there is no "genocide"—just a vibrant, complex, and beautiful country worth building together.

As the label suggests, we’re trading the "shack" for the vineyard. We aren't running; we’re running towards a better future, right here at home.

The Blend: UN:WOKE & Unfiltered

This isn't your standard supermarket white. Part of our UN:WOKE series, this wine is about "Honesty in a Glass." No pretension, just high-quality South African viticulture.

70% Chardonnay: Providing the backbone, structure, and sunshine.

20% Semillon: Adding a touch of waxiness and longevity.

10% Viognier: For that unmistakable floral aromatics and a hint of spice.

Vintage: 2022 Origin: Grapes of South Africa Profile: A crisp, sophisticated white blend with layers of citrus, stone fruit, and a defiant South African spirit.

Limited Edition Each bottle is individually numbered out of a strictly limited run. Whether you’re sharing a bottle at a braai or gifting it to a friend who loves the "Beloved Country" as much as you do, Wit Vlugteling is a conversation starter.

Don’t flee. Pour a glass. Stay for the sunset.
