In a world obsessed with polished narratives and "safe spaces," the truth is often the first thing to be edited out. But those who work the soil know that real life is messy. It’s rugged, it’s unpredictable, and sometimes, it leaves a mark.
Introducing Bloedneus—a Syrah that didn't just come from the cellar; it fought its way out.
The Story Behind the Label: A Hit to the Face In 2020, this Syrah decided to pick a fight. Shortly after bottling, we walked into the cellar to find a line of crates bleeding deep crimson. A post-bottling leak—the kind of "defect" that would make a corporate winemaker reach for the insurance papers and a PR consultant.
In the industry, they’d call it a failure. They’d want it cleaned up, swept under the rug, and hidden behind a sanitized corporate label.
We called it a Bloedneus.
A bloody nose is what you get when you stand your ground instead of turning the other cheek. It’s the cost of being in the arena rather than watching from the sidelines. This wine isn't "perfect" by the standards of the bureaucrats; it’s honest. It carries the stain of the cellar floor with pride—a reminder that character isn’t found in a marketing brochure, but in the grit of the struggle.
We didn’t fix the mess. We bottled the spirit of it.
This isn't a wine for the faint of heart or those seeking a "trigger warning." Part of our UN:WOKE series, this is 100% South African Syrah, poured without the filters of polite society.
100% Syrah: The heavyweight. Bold, spicy, and unapologetically dark. It provides the muscle and the resilience required to take a hit and keep standing.
The Nose: Dark berries, cracked black pepper, and the raw scent of a cellar that doesn't follow the rules.
The Palate: Intense structure and iron-rich tannins. It’s a punch of flavor that lingers long after the glass is empty.
Vintage: 2020
Origin: Grapes of South Africa.
Production: Strictly limited and individually numbered.
Profile: A defiant, full-bodied red that refuses to stay in its lane.
